Empowering Staff, Protecting Lives: Lethbridge Airport Partners with #NotInMyCity

Lethbridge Airport (YQL) is proud to announce a new partnership with #NotInMyCity, a national movement focused on ending sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Canada.

Through this partnership, Lethbridge Airport staff will take part in specialized training to recognize the signs of human trafficking. The airport will also support #NotInMyCity through ongoing awareness initiatives within the terminal and broader community engagement efforts.

“Airports are often key points of transit for individuals being trafficked across Canada,” said Cameron Prince, Airport Manager. “We believe we have a responsibility to act, raise awareness, and help prevent these crimes from happening in our communities. Partnering with #NotInMyCity empowers our team to be vigilant and informed.”

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes in Canada. Alarmingly, 93% of reported victims are Canadian citizens being trafficked within the country. These crimes often go unnoticed due to factors such as coercion, fear, language barriers, and mistrust of authority.

The public is encouraged to learn more by completing a free, interactive e-learning course available at notinmycity.ca/learn. The 30-minute program helps users identify red flags and equips them to take meaningful action.
